Blogging Assignment 2 Supporting points Arakawa

My revised thesis statement is yet historical men's higher position in society. The first supporting point is that women tend to leave or quit a job due to marriage and maternity leave and this is quite obvious to women. Since people who work longer usually get manegerial positions, women do not have chance to get those positions. The next point is that there may remain a trace of men chauvinism society. As you can see, Japanese Imperial House see men more important than women, and there have only been male prime ministers in Japan. From things like that we unconsciouly are taught that men are sueprior to women. The last point is that there might be difference in competence between men and women but this is not well proved and so Iwould like to consider the issue myself . But this is fact that fewer number of women are in scientific field than are men and small number of women have graduated from Harvard University for instance.

CA Blogging Assignment

The topic I chose is historical reasons for men's higher social status in Japan.  The reason I chose this is I have heard that in a company the higher the position gets, the more men work for it than women. There seems to be an unspoken but commonly shared understanding that men are somehow superior to women. I wonder why and how this idea emerged and if this could be true in competence that men are beter than women. I would look at the history of male chauvinism in Japan around the time of WWⅡ and the matters about the difference in competence between men and women. I also have a vague plan of doing a survey on couples and get results from both men and women's point of view. It would reveal how each one thinks of the other sex and how they behave in reality.
The thesis statement will be the background of men-superior society and  as in a familiar matter, how couples treat the partner.
